FMTL is a passively managed fund investing in companies involved in the mining and provision of critical metals. It considers securities listed in developed and emerging markets (excluding Vietnam) that are members or partners of the Minerals Security Partnership, earn revenue from North America, and have no operations in China or Russia. Companies must meet size, liquidity, price, security type, and seasoning requirements. Securities are classified into three sub-themes: Sustainable Energy Metals (used for solar and wind energy production), NextGen Mobility Metals (EV battery production), and Other High Technology Metals (advanced technology industries). The fund prioritizes companies with positive North American revenue in the last fiscal year. The top 50 securities are selected and weighted by market cap, subject to capping limits. The index is reconstituted and rebalanced semi-annually.
