The company also has a distribution license of approximately 618 square kilometers in Asansol–Ranigunj area of West Bengal. It serves government utilities, hospitals, industries, mines, and commercial and domestic consumers. The company was formerly known as DPSC Limited and changed its name to India Power Corporation Limited in August 2013.
